MAS DEVELOPMENT GEARS UP TO BREAK GROUND ON NEW LAUDERHILL TOWNHOMES

Lauderhill is about to get a new batch of townhomes.

Alan Benenson’s MAS Development, an Aventura-based real estate firm, is looking to break ground on its Cricket Club project on the old McArthur Dairy site within the next two months.

Jacky Sasson, an associate with MAS, told The Real Deal that the company is planning to build 155 townhomes on the 10.35-acre site it purchased early last year.

The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom homes will have about 1,320 square feet of living space. Each will also have a covered entryway and one-car garage. Prices will start in the mid-$200,000s, Sasson said.

The community will have a clubhouse, playground, pool and green space.

Known as the former McArthur Dairy site after its previous owner, the land — totaling about 24 acres — was lost to foreclosure in 2012 when it was seized by BB&T. The lender then sliced off 10.35 acres and sold it to MAS for $2.5 million in March 2015, according to county records.

Besides Cricket Club, MAS is also close to beginning development of a 37-townhome project within the existing Bahia Delray community in Delray Beach. The developer hopes to break ground this month.
